Jamison D. '19: Instructor for Girls Tech Together Program
Girls Tech Together, an interactive coding program aimed at exposing elementary school girls to computer science fundamentals. Through the course, students learn concepts such as functions, loops, conditional statements, algorithms, and more through activities, coding lessons, and interaction with professionals in the CS field. At the end of the course, students will complete a capstone project as a summation of what they have learned.
The course will be taught by Jamison DeLaine (SAES '19) who now attends MOT Charter High School and mentors for Girls Tech.
Here are 2 projects that current SAES students made in the program:
The goal of Sandhya's project is to avoid the lightning bolt and touch the balls. If you touch the lightning bolt, then game over.
The goal of Olanna's project is to use the arrow keys to move the dart to the bullseye without touching aliens. If you touch the aliens, then game over. The aliens also grow a lot overtime.
