What's Happening in Pre-K? Math!
Posted 04/05/2018 12:40PM

Pre-K students are laying the foundation for Kindergarten math!  They are exploring early numeracy using strategies that help them begin to develop the essential skills they will need for higher level critical thinking and problems solving.  We motivate our Pre-K students to learn, explore and enhance their understanding of number sense through many hands-on activities and games, such as tens frames, using dice, instant recognition and roll and color games.

In this activity, the students are using the number wheel to either count the dots or instantly recognize the amount of dots. They must find the clothespin with the matching numeral and clip it to the matching set of dots. Not only is this a math lesson, but it is promoting fine motor skills as well.  Students were proud of their work!
