Students are Treated to a Christmas Concert with Connections Buddies
After the Thanksgiving break, students and teachers enjoyed the deep and rhythmic voices of the Sunday Breakfast Mission Choir. This special concert was held during the students' "Connections" time, which pairs younger and older students together for special activities like this one.
In case you do not know, The Sunday Breakfast Mission Choir members are men who reside at the Sunday Breakfast Mission in Wilmington, DE. These men have lost their way and need help getting back on their feet. The choir offers them a fulfilling opportunity to show their gratitude to their supporting community. Sunday Breakfast Mission also provides meals and housing for women and children.
During the assembly, students learned about the Sunday Breakfast Mission and the role it plays in Delaware. For example, in 2016, they served over 312,000 meals, provided 76,000 nights of safe shelter, and assisted 819 men, women and children.
St. Anne's partnership with the Sunday Breakfast Mission includes several annual events in addition to this visit from the men's choir such as the food drive, the third grade sock drive, and the first grade silver packages project. We are glad to partner with this important agency in our community.
