Law of Motion

There are many examples of powerful learning happening for St. Anne's Middle School students. In Science, Mrs. Wolinksi's recent assignment asked students to demonstrate Newton's Law of Motion for me at home. They could make a video, drawing, poster, as well as other options, allowing them to find a relevant vehicle through which to demonstrate their understanding and share it in a way that is meaningful to them.

According to Andrew Miller, the Director of Personalized Learning at the Singapore American School, "Not only can voice and choice create more engagement in learning, but giving students agency can also empower them to become self-directed learners. Voice and choice can allow students to explore their passions and feel honored for their ideas and opinions."

Here are a few student examples - some attached and one linked here: Ava B's egg drop video, Margaret R's sketches, Mason D's FlipGrid about hockey, and Abbey S's poster about lacrosse.
