To St. Anne's Families:
As you may have heard, in addition to announcing the implementation of a Household Stay-at-Home Advisory and universal indoor mask mandate, Governor Carney recommended late Thursday afternoon that Delaware schools pause in-person learning beginning December 14, transition to virtual learning through January 8, and return to hybrid learning on January 11. The full statement can be found here and I would encourage you all to read it in its entirety.
The Governor was clear that his recommendation about schools pausing was indeed just a recommendation.I will be consulting with our team of health professionals and the Board of Trustees this evening in light of this new information but believe that the outcome will be that it is in our best interest to follow the Governor's guidance. Fortunately, while we have been continuing to hope for the best, we have been planning and preparing for a number of different scenarios. We are #HeronStrong and we will get through this next challenge the same way that we overcome so many throughout this year-- and that is together, as a community.
For the immediate term, our campus will continue to stay open, adhering to our safety guidelines and protocols, through next Friday, December 11th. As it pertains to the week of December 14th, as well as the first full week of the 2021, we will be in touch with more details as soon as possible. There is a call scheduled tomorrow with the Executive DIrector of the Delaware Association of Independent Schools and I imagine I will be writing with an update following that call.
Thank you for your dedication and commitment to St. Anne's. We will be in touch.
Yours in partnership,
