While annual gifts are critical to the day-to-day operations of the school, the Endowment is essential for long-term financial stability. The St. Anne’s Endowment Fund is like a savings account. The principal of this fund remains intact as the school spends a small percentage of the interest income. Our endowment is built on generous gift from St. Andrew’s School to start the school. Earnings from the endowment are used each year to:
- Help fund Financial Aid
- Ensure that the endowment lasts forever by reinvesting funds; and
- Maintain the school’s long-term financial stability.
You may make an unrestricted gift to the Endowment, or consider designating your gift to support these Funds:
Absalom Jones Financial Aid Endowment Fund
started in 2004 by a few dedicated parents to help provide financial aid to students from diverse backgrounds and in honor and memory of one of the first ordained African American Episcopal priests in the United States. Absalom Jones was born a slave in Delaware in 1746 and later bought his and his wife’s freedom. Absalom Jones was ordained a priest and helped to form the African Methodist Episcopal Church in Philadelphia, later becoming its rector. We invite you to strengthen our commitment to diversity by making a gift to this Fund.
The G. Harvey Zendt Faculty Endowment Fund
established in October 2007 to honor Mr. G. Harvey Zendt, St. Anne’s first Head of School, upon his retirement. Investment income from the Fund has been used to fund opportunities for professional development, such as conference attendance and continuing education for faculty members to ensure their ongoing growth as teachers. We invite you to strengthen our commitment to professional development by making a gift to this Fund.
