On Monday, the Lower School kicked off "I LOVE TO READ WEEK" with a Rock-N-Read-athon! This annual event included several fun-filled activities.
Here is a recap of I Love to Read Week:
- Monday: The faculty and staff participated in a Rock-n-Read-athon! We enjoyed tag team reading for eight straight hours!!! Be sure to ask your child if he/she spotted teachers in the rocking chair reading their favorite books!
- Tuesday: To showed our LOVE for reading during a Valentine's Dress Down Day. Everyone wore something red or pink and we compiled a list of our 100 most loved books to be displayed next week for the 100th day of school!
- Wednesday: Back by popular demand, mystery readers visited the classrooms to share a special story with the students. Be sure to ask your child if he or she was able to guess their class “mystery reader” from the clues provided.
- Thursday: Feb. 16th was World Read Aloud day so we wore our pajamas to school and settled in for some fun read-alouds and “Snuggled Up with a Good Book” during DEAR (Drop Everything And Read).
We hope you will join us in celebrating your love for reading at home by sharing some of your favorite books with your children. Books can truly take you on an adventure and what better gift to share with your child than a genuine love of reading! Visit our St. Anne's Facebook, Instagram and Twitter pages for more about our I LOVE TO READ activities. Stay tuned for a SURPRISE guest visitor February 21st to extend our reading fun even further!!
